Little Successes

Little Successes

Last night at Center Church during the Trail Life Meeting we had three new boys sign up and four existing members show up. James Garcia a former Scout Leader is filling the Troop Leader role and he had an excellent program. He started off having the boys recite the oath, then they said the pledge of allegiance and I gave the invocation and then the practiced the Trail Handshake. Then the practiced folding the flag. They took it very serious but some of the young boys had a little change getting them to understand the technique. It was everything I could do not to laugh out loud. I told one boy “We are folding the flag, not wadding the flag.” But he eventually figured it out.

Then James held a class on First Aid. He asked “What do you do when you fall down and skin up and bruise your knee?” One of the boys said “Suck it up” I said “That is a future Frogman”. It was awesome how James was able to keep their attention and focus.  This next week we have just one hour before the Marriage Covenant meeting starts at 7:00 PM so we probably need to move the meeting outside. It will help if everyone can get their on time.

Then I scheduled an appointment with a Cold Storage Facility where they don’t process any meat or poultry but while the store it the containers leak blood and there was caked on dried blood that blackened the floors and the forklifts spread it around and compressed it into the floor. I recommended 14 Karat and we mixed up ten gallons in their scrubber machine and spread it around and let it sit for five minutes and then the warehouse manager drove the scrubbing machine around and cleaned it up and we all were amazed at how clean the floors were. There were some uneven spots in the floor were the caked on blood still remained but the procurement manager took a stiff broom and was able to scrub that up because the 14 Karat had loosened it up. Everyone was very please and they ordered a 55 gallon drum. They clean the facility once a week and their scrubbing machine has a ten gallon holding tank. Diluting 40:1 they will us one gallon per month, they will have enough product to last them six and half years.

This week the F3 workout will be moved to Tuesday at 5:30 AM at Center Church. The weather will be partly cloudy and around 70 degrees so dress accordingly and bring your workout matt. I don’t mean Matt Tagle, I am giving him all of the credit for being hard core and working out at 5:30 AM. I could say “No” and show me up. Even at 5:30 AM he is smiling.
